Hello, Helen. Thank you for your comment. I am sorry I know nothing about William Dublin Smith. He is not part of the Smith family that I have described in this blog. I did find that William Dublin Smith is identified on Geneanet and his son of the same name is included on FamilySearch. You may want to look at those websites for the information they have about the ancestors you are interested in.
